Terms of Service

Effective October 28, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Cole Gottdank, a sole proprietor doing business as Hey Intern ("Hey Intern", "we", "us"). By using Hey Intern (texting it, or using heyintern.ai or app.heyintern.ai), you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use Hey Intern.

1. Who can use Hey Intern

You must be at least 13 years old and in the United States. If you're under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission, and they agree to these terms for you.

2. Your account

Your mobile number is your Hey Intern account. Keep your phone, passkeys and connected accounts secure: you're responsible for what happens through your account. If you think someone else has used it, tell us at cole@heyintern.ai.

3. What Hey Intern does

Hey Intern is an AI assistant you text. It works on its own private cloud computer: it can search and browse the web, and use the accounts you connect and the logins you save to do what you ask, for example read and send email, add calendar events, fill out forms or sign in to websites. You authorize Hey Intern to act for you in these ways. You're responsible for the instructions you give, for what's done in your accounts at your request, and for following the terms of the services it uses for you.

4. AI can make mistakes

Hey Intern uses AI, and AI can be wrong. It can misunderstand you, get facts wrong, miss things or take the wrong action. Check anything important before you rely on it. Hey Intern is not for emergencies (call 911), and it's not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial or other advice.

5. Text messages

By giving us your mobile number, you agree to get texts from Hey Intern, by SMS or iMessage: replies to your messages, updates on what you asked for, sign-in codes and account notices. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop all texts from Hey Intern (CANCEL, END, QUIT and UNSUBSCRIBE also stop them, so to cancel your plan, use the Plan page instead). Reply START to get texts again. Reply HELP for help, or email cole@heyintern.ai. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

6. Plans and payment

Hey Intern may offer a free plan with limits. The paid plan is $20 per month, plus any taxes, billed in advance through Stripe. It renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time on the Plan page at app.heyintern.ai: your plan stays paid until the end of the month you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. Payments are not refundable, including for partial months, except where the law requires. If a payment fails, we may move you to the free plan. We may change prices; we'll tell you before a new price applies, and it starts with your next billing period.

7. Acceptable use

Don't use Hey Intern to:

You also agree to follow the usage policy of Anthropic, which provides Hey Intern's AI models. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or to protect Hey Intern or others.

8. Your content

You own what you send Hey Intern and what it makes for you. You give us permission to use it to run and improve Hey Intern, as our Privacy Policy describes. You confirm you have the right to share it with us.

9. Other services

Hey Intern works with services others run, like Google, Stripe and the websites it visits for you. Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them, and we aren't responsible for them. They can change or stop working with Hey Intern.

10. Changes and ending

We may change, add or stop features. We may update these terms; we'll post the new version here and update the date, and if a change is significant, we'll let you know before it takes effect. If you keep using Hey Intern after a change, you accept it. You can stop using Hey Intern at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your account if you break these terms. If we stop offering Hey Intern, we'll give you notice when we reasonably can. Sections that by their nature should last after these terms end (like 8 and 11 to 15) will.

11. Disclaimers

Hey Intern is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that Hey Intern will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that what it says or does will be accurate.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for any claim about Hey Intern or these terms is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and $100. Some places don't allow these limits; where they don't, they apply only as far as the law allows.

13. Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because of your use of Hey Intern or your breach of these terms, you'll cover our reasonable losses and costs from it, including lawyers' fees, to the extent the law allows.

14. Governing law

California law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute about Hey Intern or these terms goes to the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. Before going to court, please email us so we can try to resolve it.

15. General

These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Hey Intern. If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term, we haven't waived it. You may not transfer these terms; we may transfer them as part of a merger, sale or reorganization.
